The Full Story
Glen was a military kid born in England, but grew up mostly in Illinois before moving to California when he was 20 years old. He has an undergraduate degree in Economics and a graduate degree in English. His book reviews have appeared in City Journal. He has written personal essays Front Porch Republic, NY Fights, and The Fight City, and his writing has been featured in Sunday Long Reads.
Glen has two primary interests in writing: the psychological and philosophical perspectives of tragic experience, and the relationship between individual memories and the sociological environment in which those memories were made.
He is currently working on two books, one about a Native American woman who lived solitarily on San Nicolas Island for 18 years in the 19th century, and the other a nostalgic recounting of his employment at an old full-service gas station in the 1970s while in high-school.
